MULTIMEDIA
Multimedia is the combination of two or more then two media performing at the same time. It is the integration of at lest a discrete and a continuous media. Media like text, graphics, image are discrete media and audio, video are the continuous media. The multimedia can be combined with movie, presentation, interactivity, graphics or animation to provide information.
Multimedia is more than one concurrent presentation medium (for example, on CD-ROM or a Web site). Although still images are a different medium than text, multimedia is typically used to mean the combination of text, sound, and/or motion video.

Text
Text includes alphabets, numbers and symbols. it can be word, line of statement or paragraph. It is the most widely used component for presenting information. Text is represented in computer by using ASCII, UNICODE.
Graphics or Image
Graphics or Image is the collection of pixels. Image represents picture capture from the real world whereas graphics represents picture developed by using graphical objects (geometrical shapes). A graphics can express the ideal of information in easier way than the text.
Audio
An audio is the sound which is audible to human ear. Different types of audio used in multimedia are: human voice, instrumental notes, natural sound etc. It is one of the important component. Video also includes audio.
Video
A video is the continuous frames of static pictures. Generally, when 20-25 frames per second are displayed, it looks like smooth running video. Video is the contains images, figures, graphs, animation, sound etc.
Animation
An animation is the sequence of steam images displayed in rapid succession to provide visual effects. It is the displaying of images in a sequence. It provides life to the computer generated images. It is commonly used in cartoons, movies, video games, video etc.
